My wife and I are caregivers for our 24 year old son with Duchenne MD. Since he is on a ventilator full-time and has a permanent trach, this seriously limits any time spent away. One of us must be present at all times to perform the many tasks our son requires. It was such a blessing when we were contacted by Refreshing Waters Respite with an offer to get away for a couple of days.  Ideally, my wife and I would have gone together, but since this was not possible, we were each given a break.
